the last marathon?

i remember when i first received the NUS freshmen guide in early 2005, one phrase caught my attention and it remained in my memory for the last 3 and a half years.

modelled after the cliche "life is a journey, not a destination", this phrase has a shorter time frame. "university is a marathon, not a 100metre sprint, so advance ahead while enjoying the gentle breeze and beautiful scenery".

marathon you say? hah, no wonder i feel so exhausted after 3 years, i've treated the whole agony like a 100m sprint, using my full strengh, going at full power.......and, did i just hear gentle breeze? or a tornado coupled with a tsunami threatening to deter the most determined undergraduate? beautiful scenery? haaaah, all that i see are my lecturers' faces, u call that scenery? maybe, but beautiful? i'll leave that to you to judge.......

that said, the end of something is just, well, i wouldn't say sad, but i would say, it's just emotional.
flashes of memories of the first few days in NUS seeps through my veins and then through the blood brain barrier (yea right......).

the last marathon, the last exam, the last run, seem close, too close in fact. i wish i was 13 once again.
